About Us

Short History
A group of concerned citizens met to discuss the problem of available, affordable housing in the fall of 2005.  More meetings ensued and a Founding Board was organized and met to begin the process of forming an organization.  The Lake Chelan Community LandTrust was incorporated as a non-profit in the State of Washington on December 15, 2005

LCCL received its 501(c)(3) status from the IRS on March 23, 2007.  In 2007 we chose the name, C.H.O.I.C.E. HOUSING:  Creating Housing Opportunities In Chelan for Everyone to reflect our mission:    C.H.O.I.C.E. Housing is working to maintain the character and vitality of the Chelan Valley by acquiring land and creating permanently affordable homes.  Our work helps bridge the gap between high property values and the low incomes of many people who live and work here: people who are vital to our community’s well being and to our future.
